The data shown in this website is updated twice a year. The current release shows emissions for 1990,1995,2000,2005,2010,2015,2018 and 2019 (as established in January 2021) and preliminary emissions to air, 2020 (determined July 2021).

The Netherlands Pollutant Release & Transfer Register

Since 1974 a number of organizations have been working closely together in this Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) to collect and formally establish the annual releases of pollutants to air, water and soil in the Netherlands. Results serve to underpin the national environmental policy and provide data for the many environmental reports to international organisations such as the European Union and the United Nations, e.g. the National Inventory Report for the Kyoto Protocol.
